Research 2 # Why Does Rain Drop?

in #nature6 years ago

Little brother, a friend of yours asks why is it raining? Before you answer, do you know about the water cycle? Yes, it is true. The water cycle is the movement of water from one place to another and changes in the form of water from one phase to another, which occurs in nature. The water cycle is a natural way of working to keep the water on Earth always in number. Why must it be maintained so that water is always fixed? So that there is a balance in nature so that the Earth becomes comfortable and safe to be occupied by humans.

In the water cycle, we know that all water on the surface of the soil will flow to the lowest place, namely the sea. In the sea, there is very much water to be heated by the Sun so that evaporation occurs. This evaporation has forced the liquid water to change phase to steam so that it can float in the air. This steam keeps moving upwards, and gathering with the others, more and more and more. This collection of steam is what we call the cloud.

Well, rain occurs when a collection of steam turns into water dots. This water is very much, the longer it gets bigger and reaches saturated conditions. This saturated condition means that the cloud no longer holds enough water points so that it drops in the form of rain. So, rain automatically occurs because clouds have passed the saturation point, and of course also because of the influence of Earth's gravitational force.

Try to imagine you are riding a swing that is hung using a rope. The swing has the heaviest load limit of 10 kg. If you weigh 15 kg and are desperate to climb the swing, what will happen? Aha, the rope will break and you will fall, right? Just like a cloud that has a capacity limit. If the collection of water points in this cloud has exceeded the limit, of course, they will fall as rainwater.

Well, the existence of rain is also very useful to return the water that was originally from the Earth to return to Earth again. Water that returns to Earth is certainly very useful to water plants, trees, and forests. Rainwater is also useful for filling water niches in the soil so that humans can use them as clean water for various purposes.

In addition, rain is also very important to regulate and balance the climate on Earth. With the rain, the temperature that was hot and dry will feel fresh and moist. Another important thing is that rainwater is also useful as a dirty air wash.

Rain can quickly remove dust, smoke and other pollutant particles in the air so that the air returns clean. Like the smoke of forest and land fires that are currently rampant in Sumatra and Kalimantan. Rain, especially heavy rain, can be the best solution for blackouts of fire and smoke there.

Now, brothers and sisters, now you know, the importance of rain for nature, climate, and life on Earth. Hmm, it turns out rain is very interesting, huh. Are there any of you who want to study the rain when it's big?

Thanks
