Good evening, fellow nature fans. Tonight's Daily Nature Fix is going to be a few photos that nearly look like they're black and white right off of the camera. I suppose "grayscale" might be a more accurate term, but you know what I mean. All of these images are unedited or adjusted, aside from cropping the size. Anyway, I'll show a few photos and talk a bit about each.
^^^This first one is a section of cliff made up of thousands of volcanic basalt columns at the Reynisfjara beach in southern Iceland. The grey rocks, white snow, and black sand beach is a great example of what I was trying for with this concept.
^^^While we're talking bout Iceland, this photo is also from there. Actually, this photo was taken just on the other side of that same cliff/mountain on the Reynisfjara beach. The gray, overcast sky really added to the black and white tone.
^^^This one might not be a cool, but it was still neat in it's own colorless way. This is a photo of the Blue Mud steam vent in Yellowstone National Park. Vegetation doesn't crow in close proximity to a lot of these geothermal vents, so they're a good candidate for this concept.
^^^Here is a closeup photo of the ground in The Burren National Park in Ireland. There is a nearly 100 square miles of this limestone bedrock found just south of Galway.
^^^Check it out: ballast columns are showing up once again. This time, they were found along the northern coast of Northern Ireland. This is part of the famous Giants Causeway, a seaside area made up of around 40,000 of these volcanic basalt columns.
