Hi folks. I wanted to share a photo or two that we took at one of the most incredible sights we have ever seen. It is The Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone National Park.
This was our second visit to the hot spring, which is the largest in the United States, but last time we only viewed it from that wooden walkway you can see in the distance of the above photo. It's cool that the walkways gets you so close to the edge of the spring, but you need to see the thing from above to really appreciate how awesome it is! We noticed a few hills and small mountains to our perimeter and decided to take a hike up to the top of one. Boy, was that a good choice or what? The view of Grand Prismatic was incredible. We took a ton of photos, included this one using my iPhone's panoramic feature:
I feel like panoramic photos do a slightly better job of portraying the size of the things, relative to the surroundings. We were probably a half mile (or more) away from the spring right here, and it still looked massive! I did a post that talked a little more about the spring's specifics last year.
