The Perfect Tree Tuesday

in #nature7 years ago

Don't you just love it when everything works out in an awesome way? Well, it just so happens that today is "Tree Tuesday" (thanks @old-guy-photos) and it is also FREE DAY at the LA County Arboretum and Botanic Garden in Arcadia, CA!

So, my husband, @joechiappetta and I took advantage of the free day and had ourselves a great lunch date and walk. 💝🌳

And, to add to the awesomeness of it all, even the animals decided to strike a pose for us! Again, for free! 😄

One of the highlights was getting to see this majestic peppercorn tree. Would you look at that trunk!

And such spicy little specimens!

One of those days when you think to yourself, "Yay! I win!" 🎉

Why hello my pretty birds you have some amazing colors! Man those things are amazing I want one for my backyard! Glad you took advantage of the free day and shared it with us.

Always brightens my day when I see some wonderful photos of nature.

Thanks @enjar! Funny thing is that here in CA, you probably really could have a peacock in your back yard. I've occasionally one roaming around Pasadena, just walking up the sidewalk like he's the Mayor or something ;) The peacocks roam around all over the arboretum. I have a friend who has chickens in his back yard.

Oh, wow! You got the best tree shots ever! Who doesn't love a free arboretum day?

These are fabulous! Steemit is misbehaving and doesn't want to upvote you :( I will try later!

Thanks dswigle! No worries, Steemit was acting up for me earlier as well. Yes, @joechiappetta and I have all the free days for all the local attractions on our calendar. If you have a flexible enough schedule to arrange things to attend, say, on a Tuesday afternoon, there are really a lot of tremendous opportunities in the Los Angeles area.

Same here in the Washington, DC area! Everything is free all the time! :) Now, all you need is time!

That is a perfect coincidence! I love that the birds cooperated, and that peppercorn tree is so neat. Gnarly in the best way possible! 🤣

Thanks @plantstoplanks! Yes, I have not had a fabulous history with birds (still getting over being attacked by a goose 20 years ago ;) so it was a delightful surprise to have this peacock decide to be a gentleman.

Geese can be downright vicious! Glad you didn't have a repeat experience! 🤣

That must be a lovely walk indeed! 😊

Thanks @arrliinn! Yes, a very pleasant afternoon :)

Sorry Im late! Ive never seen a peppercorn tree before!

Looks like the two of you had a great day out and that treee is so cool, and so nice of the peacock to pose for you :)
