My dad came out from Arizona to visit with me for a few days, so I took him up into the San Bernardino mountains to one of his old favorite fishing spots. Bear Creek. Bear creek is a fork of the Santa Ana river and it's actually the fork that drains Big Bear lake. The trout fishing is great, but not necessarily easy. Theses are some smart fish here! So you need to have a really good lure or fly and you gotta sneak up on the fish and make your first cast (or 2) a good one because once the fish know you're there... they disappear.
So we got down to the creek and headed upstream. I would sneak up on a pool and my dad would sneak up on the next one and we moved our way upstream in that fashion. I let dad lead as to give him the advantage, and he utilized it. He was hooking it up!! I caught a few as well, but not nearly as many as he did. All catch and release with barbless spinning lures. We caught some real beauties, both German Brown trout and Rainbow trout.

After a long, but super fun day of fishing we hiked back downstream to where we parked. We setup our camp there and enjoyed a fun night with a nice little campfire. I was really happy to get to spend some real quality time with my pops. The next day we headed up to Big Bear and did a short, but fun little hike above the lake to wrap up our trip.

Great outdoor adventure @derekrichardson. Thanks for sharing and letting me tag along on the journey 😀
It's my pleasure Raj, I'm glad you enjoyed the journey.
That's some beautiful country and gorgeous fish! They can sure be crafty about avoiding people. Happy hiking!
Damn... those are some bomb ass trout... it looks like y'all had a great time... phat fishing hole👍👍
It's a good spot and it's not to well known. Way out on a long dirt road. So it doesn't see as many fisherman as some of the other spots.
Awesome looking spot, I'd love to take my tenkara rod up there.
Go check it out man. You'll love it up there. Bear creek is awesome.
I'm glad you got to spend some QT with your Pops <3 <3 <3 Looks like you guys had a great day. The video was a nice addition too :)
It was great. My dad LOVES fishing. He moved to Arizona awhile ago (as has most of my family) and he has a beautiful lake not far from his house where he fishes all the time. But this was one of his favorite fishing spots when he used to live here in California, so it was especially fun for me to take him back out to the spot he used to like to take me fishing back when I was a kid. More than my own catches I was really just enjoying watching the joy in his face as he hooked up trout after trout! He might be getting old, but he's still a pro fisherman for sure!!

Ah, @vidafitnessfeliz I see now what you were talking about. You shouldn't be putting your video links in the comments on other peoples posts. I removed my flag, I'll just let Jaynie address that If she wants to. But just for future reference thats usually not cool.
Oh, perfect now I understood I did not know my mistake, thank you will consider lesson learned @derekrichardson
Hey there. I totally agree that embracing the realities of nature is a better way to find love and peace. I 'm a beleiver in natural law. Anyways, I have no idea anything about your situation with @jaynie. If you red flagged her comment I can see why she would be angry. There is absolutely no reason to redflag any of her comments or posts.
