While exploring a little forest with many paths i came across the sign seen on the photo. Its a short explanation of the role of the trees in the ecosystem - they production of oxygen, binding of carbon dioxide etc. The wooden framed sign had either fallen down or placed there to be more easily readable by children.
This made me think of our role in the ecosystem. There is no doubt that we are parts of this global ecology - nevertheless we often subconsciously cling to the old idea that some god(s) have created this word exclusively for us.
In the same vein the plants of our planet could have been 'thinking' for thousands of years that the world was created for them, and we, the humans are nothing but natural fertilizer providers. Does that sound right?
Yes, we are super-predators, we 'tamed' the land.
But did we understand it?
