The Grey Heron is often seen stalking the riverbanks and ponds for fish. They will slowly move along the waters edge and wait for the exact moment to strike.
I often see these birds stalking the fish in my ponds. Luckily i have the pond with the larger fish meshed and the top pond is too deep for even the long legged Heron
Most people don't realise just how big these birds are. They dwarf most other birds in the sky with their huge 2 metre wing span.
These birds usually build their nests in trees just above the water. They lay 4 to 5 blueish eggs
