Aquarium or aquarism is one of the most popular hobbies in the world, and for good reason. This exciting hobby has numerous benefits that go beyond beauty and aesthetic appeal.
I am subscribed to this youtube channel in which the process of making up aquarium's is explained in detail; here a video sample I’d like to share … please enjoy …. !
Here are some of these benefits:
They help and calm children who suffer from hyperactivity, behavioral disorders, such as difficulty socializing, excessive aggression, poor school performance or little self-confidence.
The elderly are a group to which the company of animals animates and revitalizes them. This happens as they have to take a position of responsibility with them. An aquarium changes routines in nursing homes.
Remembering the schedules and needs of fish is a good exercise for memory and concentration.
Effects of aquariums on Alzheimer's disease. Studies have shown that seniors who have some type of disease denote a variety of health benefits simply by observing an aquarium. They experience an increase in appetite, and require fewer supplements after placing it in the dining room. They also show less aggressive behavior characteristic of this condition.
Several studies indicate that those who enjoy an aquarium at home have their blood pressure below the values of those who lack an aquarium.
It is shown that watching closely an aquarium, the rhythmic movements of fish, the swaying of plants with moving water, the soft sound of water waves or air bubbles relaxes and soothes people.
In numerous doctor's offices, mainly of dentistry and after support by several medical studies, aquariums have been introduced: the parsimonious swimming of the fish relaxes to the point of exerting a real anesthetic effect, acting like a kind of background music producing less anxiety and pain to patients.
The fish remind us of the water. These small animals are associated with nature. The bright colors of the fish are an excellent anti-stress, neutralize the aggressiveness and convey good humor. They reduce the stress of daily life and help fight insomnia.
And it is that therapies with aquariums have proved very effective, seeing fish "floating" usually centers and keeps all the attention of patients in them, which can make them forget their situation or their ailment for a while, helping the person divert his attention to something else.
I do not know about you, but I have stayed several times "hypnotized" with an aquarium and I have entered into "cloud state" until I dream seeing those fish lazily swimming in the background ... the state of "contemplation" that causes us to be in front of an aquarium. It is a singular state of stillness, relaxation and tranquility that we experience.
In addition to the above, there is the fact that having fish does not imply breaching possible pet bans in a department or giving explanations to a noise-sensitive neighbor. An aquarium, moreover, can do us well that we forget the idiot box (T.V.), giving us a real show, without commercials, live the 24 hours, on the aquatic nature.
