Great post. If I may, I would suggest adding recycle and re-purpose items to your list. For example, I remember reading an article of how a small company in Ethiopia takes old tires and recycles them into soles for footwear. Cool idea indeed. There are even outdoor enthusiasts, who are contentious about minimizing negative impacts on the environment, who have provided DIY (Do It Yourself) tutorials on how to make your own sandals from used tires. There is also proof that big business is beginning to see the earning potential in this area. Take for instance the well-known Timberland brand which has begun to offer a line of shoes (Timberland Tires) manufactured from recycled tires.
So this just all goes to say that your post is very much on the mark and provides so very good information to the community.
