There is an assisted living facility I regularly visited last spring when I worked with the library bookmobile team, and they had a row of cherry trees that blossomed beautifully along the road. Nothing on the scale of what you've posted, of course, but a pleasant surprise while the rest of Spring in the Northwest US was still mostly drab.

Remember a similar thing when I lived in London. Once a year my (otherwise drab) street would come to life with colour. Sadly the cherries were not edible though!
There are quite a few here in the South of France too. And plenty of other fruit blossom :)
