Our 4th day of class we learned about the “Living Map” which is this giant role out map of Boulder County that we usually use with kids to teach them about all different things from ecosystems across elevations to water and how it makes it’s way through the mountains to the plains. It helps give you a sense of location within the county too.
See it’s a big old map! We all had to take off our shoes and I was the crazy one in toe socks! HA! Pretty diverse county though ecologically huh! All the way from the alpine tundra to the grasslands.
After this fun activity that got us out of our seats we sat through a lecture on ways to give interruptive programs. Sitting all day can be pretty tough. I don’t know how kids do it! We learned our way through the ideas of icebreakers and storytelling, kids programs, games, and good public speaking.
Not my favorite one of the classes!
