So as I recall it was year 2015 mid of June. And me with my brother and four of our friends decided to go for a hike in Poland southern part at Tatri mountains. Me personaly didnt have any experience climbing mountains (except this one time when I climbed Tavernes de la Valdigne in Spain). So we packed our bags booked our flight and went for an adventure.
And when you dont know what to expect once you climb the peak the revard is fascinating (like the one in the first picture). I just had to sit for a while, roll a cigarette and enjoy the view of the best artist on planet earth - mother nature, herself...
First day was intense, cause we didnt sleep that much, but we still had to hike to our first resting place in order to follow our schedule. The morning was sunny but after lunch time it started raining and were halfway to cabin. And on our way there we could see lots of warning signs to beware of bears. And once we got to cabin it got dark and problem was, that there were no space left for us to sleep, and it was prohibitat to sleep in the woods cause it was national park territory plus the risk of getting eaten by bears... But we had no other option then to go to the woods and gamble with our lives...
That night was terrifying I was half a sleep like a delphin. My brain was out but one of my eye was open. We woke up with the sunrise ate a quick meal and continued our hike.
The weather was sunny with a small breeze. After four hour hike we where got to the ridge that actualy represented border between poland and slovakia.
By the way on those warning signs was writen that there is 50 bears in that mountain region...
It seemed its gonna be okey day, but god had other plans for us. So he send a storm with lightnings upon us and everybody know how dangerous it is to be in the mountains during the storm.... Gladly we where at the ski resort restaurant at that moment. we waited for a few moments and went on. But I have to tell you it was still raining.
Once we got to our second planed cabin we immediately asked the host if we can stay there. After we got "Yes" from our host we fixed dinner and got ourselfs a beers.
This deer just dont give a fucks about people taking pictures of him. Guess his used to walk aroud the woods meeting someone occasionaly.
I wonder if he is in good relationship with bears?
Although I am not a big fan of alchohol we took a small flesh to worm us up after windy, rainy days.
In concludion if you ever decide to go to Tatri. Please dont pack your bag like if you would go for a trip to Nepal for a month. This area is modern and you dont have to carry heavy packs with food. You can buy proper food in cabins for a resonable price. I would say its more of a tourism than hiking routes, cause from what I recall we were the only ones with tents, food supply, first aid, water reserves etc. Unlike rest of the people who already knew what to expect...
Hope you are great. And I wish you all to listen once in a while for what nature is saying, if its calling - go for it, You can always come back!
