So yesterday, while taking our 4 year old son to t-ball practice, I decided I am over winter. It was in the low 50's but the wind chill made it seem much colder. Then the rain started to sprinkle about 30 minutes into the practice, so I wanted nothing more to be back in my warm vehicle rather than a chilly baseball field, watching the kids shiver.
That lead to my latest poem, a call for winter to move along and make way for the warmer weather of spring.
Goodbye Winter
Go away with your drab landscape.
Bare branches of dying trees,
Ice forming on every home,
Threatening snow looming in the clouds.
Teeth chattering,
Cold wind biting,
I wave goodbye,
Bidding you farewell.
I long for spring,
The bright rays of sun,
Warming the ground,
A toasty blanket cuddling the land.
The fresh smell of green grass,
Lifting our renewed spirits,
The delightful sound of birds chirping,
Pulling our lips upward into smiles.

In harmony with nature there is something inside of us is waking up too. Every little breeze of warm wind against your face that reminds of the summer that comes. It's just lovely!
I'm looking forward to Spring, but there are no signs of it today. Boston is being hit with blizzard like conditions. But, I also enjoy snow days!
Update- The storm is official a blizzard in Boston! "Officially, the National Weather Service defines a blizzard as a storm which contains large amounts of snow OR blowing snow, with winds in excess of 35 mph and visibilities of less than 1/4 mile for an extended period of time (at least 3 hours).".
Boston qualified based on the wind and visibility.
Oh no...hope you are staying warm!!!
Thank you for your concern. We are nice and toasty. I crank up the heat when we have big storms, just in case we lose power.
