On Saturday me and Dave went up Helvellyn, one of the highest peaks in the lake district. We set off driving up to glen ridding at about 6:00am and got there at about 8:15am. About 15 minutes in we had realised that we weren't on the intended trail and decided to scramble up the side of one of the lower surrounding peaks so we could get a good look around (scrambling up the side was so much harder than the climb up from Striding edge to the top of Helvellyn, it really took it out of us, but we pushed on). On reaching the top of this we realised we were actually right back on track and and had a clear path to follow to Striding edge. Climbing across Striding edge was by far the most enjoyable part of the day, then we sat down at the top of Helvellyn for a well deserved rest. It took us about 2 hours and 45 minutes to get up and about 1 hour 30 minutes to get back down (it was a much easier route down). Then we went into the Travellers Rest (the pub) for some dinner and a well earned pint. All in all a great day, hope you like my pictures.

Striding edge, this is what I came for, the ridge walk up to Helvellyn and it was great fun.
Striding edge and Helvellyn again.
Swirrel edge, view from the top of Helvellyn, a bit easy compared to Striding edge but still fun.

You may have already realised this but really enjoyed walking over these ridges

Beautiful landscape.
I love the Lake District, it's a great place to unwind and everything's beautiful
