Lake Hillier (pink lake), Western Australia
Lake Hillier is a saline lake at the edge of Middle Island, the largest of the islands and islets that make up the Recherche Archipelago on the south coast of Western Australia.
The lake is famous for its pink color. Color that is supposed to be due to the unique organism that inhabits it called, Dunaliella salina. Another hypothesis argues that pink color is due to red halophilic bacteria from salt crusts.
Chittorgarh Fort, India
Fort Chittorgarh is one of the largest fortresses in India and probably one of the most grandiose in the state of Rajasthan. It is declared as a World Heritage Site. The fortress is known more as Chittor, was once the capital of the Mewar region and is currently located in the town of Chittorgarh.
Cinque Terre, Riomaggiore, Italy
Cinque Terre is a rugged part of the Italian Riviera. It is located in the Ligurian region of Italy, west of the town of La Spezia. The "Five Lands" (Cinque Terre) comprise five villages: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore.
Over the centuries, people have carefully built terraces on rocky slopes with views of the sea. Part of the charm is that the villages are connected by trails, it can be reached by train and sea-going ships, but the machines can not reach them from the outside.
