About a week ago there happened to be a funeral at my home. My cousin had lost his wife. However there was a controversy in his marriage. The late wife had deserted my cousin about seven years ago leaving him to take care of their three children now 22,20 and 12 respectively.
While away my cousin informed us that he pleaded with her to come back severally but in his last plea she told him to go marry his own mom.
In African culture this is the worst term that can be used against any man.It is normally difficult to tell what can make people especially women,abandon their own children.
Eventually my cousin received a call that his wife was seriously sick. He ended up visiting the hospital from where the call came from only to find the wife's lifeless body in hospital. Postmortem was done on the body in the presence of some sisters to the late to determine the cause of the death and the body was kept in a morgue awaiting its funeral and burial.
Last Friday was the funeral day which was held at the home of my cousin. The whole event went well till the time for the pastor came. Some of the late's family member were complaining that the service was being hurried. The mummering picked pace as the pastor began to preach.
The pastor pleaded with them to keep quiet and sit down as he was going to shorten the preaching. They ended stand and shouting at the pastor and left to catch their bus to leave. They end up shaming him but he continued to preach.
After a short while the visitor has a terrible accident but thank God nobody died.
So you may fear no man but fearing of God can be wise and can be a lifestyle to live. Besides there it is good to be honest with oneself as these family needed just to be consoled and nothing else for it what they actually needed most.
