We had an interesting guest last week - The red admiral butterfly (Vanessa atalanta) visited us...

I took some photos and tried to capture him all-around :) Look how beautiful he is...

We went to sit outside and this little guy was on the table... Notice how he looks different than other members of his species. This one looks like he burned his wings...

This species is common in Croatia and I know them since I was little, but I never saw one that looks like this...

Something happened to him and it seems that somehow he burned his wings. Usually they have tree times larger wings than this one on the photos...

My little burned butterfly, I wonder what happened to those beautiful wings... After taking these photos I moved him on the flower and left him there...

I don't know if he can fly like that, but I didn't see him after...

Burned or not, I Love him :) He made me smile and I wanted to share that with you :) Hope you enjoyed!
