Hi all Steemi's friends! On this occasion I will share about the natural beauty of Mount Merbabu, for those of you who like the beauty of the mountains and have a hobby of climbing, Merbabu gunug is perfect for you. Mount Merbabu is a volcano located in three districts. On the western side of the slope is in Magelang regency, while on the eastern slope is in the region of Boyolali regency and the northern slope is in the region of Semarang regency.
Standing firmly with a height of 3,145 meters above sea level (mdpl), this mountain offers a beauty that is hard to forget. A challenging climbing sensation with stunning scenery for climbers, high-altitude connoisseurs familiar with the typical mountain air. Next to Merapi, this mountain is no less in offering its unrivaled beauty. Located between the three districts of Semarang, Boyolali and Magelang, Central Java Province, Mount Merbabu is a strato-type volcano, which is composed of erupting rocks that occur repeatedly.
Etymologically, Merbabu comes from two syllables, meru (mountain) and ash (ash). This name was first raised in Dutch manuscripts. As a volcano, Merbabu erupted in 1560 and 1979. Currently, this mountain is no longer active. Mount Merbabu has four main lines namely Selo line from Boyolali, Kopeng line from Salatiga, Wekas line from Magelang and Suwanting from Magelang.
The tracks in each of these paths are a combination of flat roads, bumpy to uphill. Among the four trekking lines, Selo is a favorite of climbers because of its relatively easy path and very eye-catching scenery. In the morning until noon, your eyes will be served with the green fields of grass and savanna pampering the eyes, while at night you will see the glitter of the city skyline from a height. There are three peaks in this mountain, the Peak Triangulasi, Puncak Kentheng Songo and Puncak Syarief.
At the top of this mountain is often performed religious ceremonies or rituals by surrounding communities who still adhere to Kejawen, local beliefs of Java community. The most interesting of these Kejawen followers is the ritual prayer at the top of the mountain always ends with the activities of cleaning the mountain. Very popular among climbers, Merbabu offers a fairly complete climbing package. The field is not too heavy with a very pampering sight of the eye.
