The Tau Emerald Dragonfly

in #nature7 years ago

Here is another one from my walk to Springlawn Lagoon ant Narawntapu National Park. This one is known as the Tau Emerald (Hemicordulia tau). Amazingly, it sat perched on a piece of Bracken fern and allowed me to approach quite closely.

The photos were taken with a Canon 7D and Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro lens.

Brilliant Photographs. Well done mate.

Good stuff, dragonflies can be difficult to get close to before they fly off...only to land 1m away and do it over and over again!

Hot damn! The detail on his eyes are remarkable!

The first shot is just amazing. The close-up on the eyes and the angle definitely makes it my favorite. Thanks for sharing these beautiful pictures.
