Oh no! A baby fawn is trapped in the trench!
I sure am glad that I happened to check if anything had fallen into our trench today. As I walked along, I was very surprised by what I found. I would have expected a snake or box turtle maybe, but not a deer.
After evaluating the situation, I came up with a plan to free the fawn without touching it. Then, we heard its mom off in the distance, so we tried to steer it back that direction.
HERE COMES THE RESCUE!
Thinking like a steemian these days, I grabbed the camera to document my find and the rescue attempt. Thankfully, it was a success. Check it out!

Nope, no injuries that I noticed at all. It just seemed young and awkward.

I did rescue it, but I also hunt. I don't think people who hunt are heartless at all.

That was so neat to watch. I think its great that you educated your children and any viewers that didn't already know about not touching the fawn so there wasn't a risk of rejection from its mom upon reuniting.

What an adventure. Glad you were able to help the fawn get out and back to its mom. It was probably scared out of its mind, but now it has momma to protect it... and hopefully keep it away from the trench.

Poor little fellow. I am so glad you were able to help him get out of the trench. Hopefully, he and mom were reunited and are living happily in the woods.
Nice work there! Your deed for the day. I never realised that was a dear call, sounds like sheep. Heard some in the woods the other day but obviously thought it was sheep in the adjacent field. 💯🐒
