This was the first year that I was able to pick up elk on my game cams. There has been a small herd that roams through the hills behind my property for a couple of years but is now there are 40 - 60 to 60 of them. I have yet to see the bull, but the older cows do a good job of keeping an eye out for the herd. There are quite a few yearling's in this herd.

I love the 4th one! I have had deer come within a few feet of me, but was glad I was not holding the camera for this elk. Its mother was too close.

Thank you very much. I use what they call a game camera. You then set it for motion detection. It even takes pictures or video clips after dark. I like setting mine for a short video clip. I attach it to a tree pointed toward a game trail. In the area I had two of my cameras there are a couple of game trails that merge.
Yes I am very lucky to leave near a forest. It is just a short walk from my home. Glad you enjoyed. I have a lot of video c clips I am still going through. I saved most on my computer and backed up on my server.

I think you can capture more animals to your camera! This is interesting! Is there wolves and bears in the area? I wish you will post those video clips as well! By the way I have a suggestion, better you try DTUBE and YOUTUBE! Coz in that way you can earn a decent profit as well!

There are wolves periodically that come through but have not stayed. Lots of coyotes and somewhere I have some clips of them. I have seen sign of black bear, but have yet to see one. I did get a chance a few years ago watching a mountain lion go through my pasture near the barn. We have moose in the area but have not gotten any on game cameras yet.
In the Spring when the snow starts to melt I will get them set up for the spring, summer and fall. I should get more interesting video clips. I need to go through the manual and see if I can lengthen the time frame. I also want to set one for pictures only to how that goes.
Someone else mentioned Dtube and Youtube. I plan on investigating them. Thank again!

wow, incredibly close- you aren't kidding! just as i'm typing this to you some owls are hooing! nature galore. once when i was hiking along the "lost coast" of california, we got to a place where there were all the male elk who had lost that years go at the harem, alllll gathered together. huge elk, like 20 of them, and they were used to humans and would be like 15 ft (no joke) from your campsite. we had our large guard dog (a pyrenees) with us at the time and at first were freaked out and kept our distance, but slowly realized they were just so used to humans they didn't really care. didn't turn my back on them still tho! haha but got some great pics.

@r2cornell did you face any problems from the animals in surronding like wolfs and others...
Periodically a wolf or two will pass through but none have stayed long. When they show up the coyotes move away until the wolves leave. We used to have a mountain line (a few years back) but I have not seen or heard it for several years.
Ho thats good...but litle bit feels scary ..when they came near to us...did you felt scary or not when wolfs came..any weapons or sticks you took for protect your self
At times I will carry a gun with me, but usually wolves will stay clear, as do the coyotes.
Ho ok... did you face any attacks from animals and use the gun for hunting ...

Very few wolves. Some coyotes, some black bear and once in awhile you will spot a mountain lion (cougar).
Lion is also there???? 🙄 You don't feel scared???
Mountain Lion yes. Also called Cougar.
When one is around we all stay alert, but seldom are there problems.
