RE: We just got a new rabbit; meet Phil!

Ahh so cute XD We were thinking about getting a dwarf one to keep our guinea pig company as rescue piggies seem to be rather hard to come by at the moment, and the only male one we've encountered so far didn't like him :< Our other option of course is neutering the poor guinea pig so any pig will be an option without making more!

Glad that bun was able to find a home with you, he's probably glad to not be moving around constantly anymore ;D

Thanks! I can imagine that it's a lot more difficult to get a rescue guinea pig. Those are definitely a lot more rare to come by, at least in Norway. But how are rabbits and guinea pigs together? I didn't even know it was possible to keep them together for company with each other.

Guess it depends on the rabbits and the guinea pigs? :D

The rescue lady that had the guinea pig we went to look at had put him in with two small female rabbits and they were all quite happy together, so she was considering rehoming him with one of the rabbits.

Conversely a friend's kids have guinea pigs and they ended up with rabbits (not sure if they agreed to rehome the rabbits from someone else who was getting rid of them or if they went out looking for rabbits) and as the eldest child (a teenager) had done their research and found out rabbits and guinea pigs can cohabit, they decided to pop the rabbits in the guinea pig hab (it was a pretty big hutch that is sold as being suitable for chickens, rabbits and guinea pigs) and they didn't get on, so I think the rabbits are now in their own hab.
