Mount Morgan Australia, Mine & Cave

Just a recap on our family vacation to Rockhampton QLD Australia, where we visited all surrounding areas.
Today I will be talking about Mount Morgan QLD Australia.

Mount Morgan was the main reason we went all the way to Rockhampton. Discover Australia's gold mining history and find out why it was one of the world’s richest gold mines in its first ten years of operation.

We also got to see prehistoric footprints in a man made cave. It is probably the best examples of dinosaur footprints I have seen in Australia.

Mount Morgan'sTMC Tours takes you through historic past of Mount Morgan, the major attraction was their heritage listed gold mine.
We also got to view the Michael Durant fossil display.

It was once boasted to be one of the biggest towns in Queensland at its peak in the early 1900's. These days it is a shell of its former glory many building just left to die. Below is the old tennis club.

We also learned about yesterday’s mining traditions, as well as the current environmental issues they have today e.g. all their water is poisonous.

One ghostly old town- so much to discover and explore! Experiencing Mount Morgan with TMC Guided Tours is well worth it.I recommend all do this tour as they can take you everywhere.

One of the best cemeteries can be found here. Stacked with many great old head stones and tragic tales to be found. From mine explosions to floods, they have it all.

Seems like a dark idea to take photos of head stones but how good do they look. Now this is morbid, a photo opportunity in front of a grave. lol.
