Slow but Safe
A few years ago I was walking through the Museum of Fine Arts in Los Caobos Park in Caracas - Venezuela and I found this little friend and I would not know if it is not until today that it is the African Giant Snail. This snail is included in the list of 100 most harmful invasive exotic species in the world and can already be found in the states of Miranda, Portuguesa, Delta Amacuro, Lara, Sucre, Monagas, Nueva Esparta and Aragua (Biorregiones: Cordillera de la Costa , insular, Los Llanos, Orinoco River Delta, Lara-Falcón hills system).
today day 4/09/2018 I do not know how much your population has grown or decreased since the news that I could find are some years ago, but in the same way if you see them it is better to avoid them since the scientists they affirm that this species could be carrier of at least seven types of parasites, which could cause respiratory, gastrointestinal, neurological, hepatic problems and of other organs of the body.
The process of elimination of these has to be carried out ALWAYS with the protected hands and place them in a bucket with three parts of water and one of chlorine. Then let them dry in the sun and finally bury them.
Update
In the Spanish version of this publication, user @arnuon left an interesting comment on this topic which I want to share with you here:
"Hello friend, recently I read in an article by Llano extremo, a blog on the internet, where I said that it was practically impossible to eradicate this species. I am concerned about the impact that this animal is currently creating with respect to other species such as the Guacara and in the future the consequences will be noted. These snails did not see them in my community until a year ago, they invaded us. Good post Greetings!. "
