FIRST POST ON STEEMIT

in #nature7 years ago

HEY STEEM COMMUNITY, I AM SO EXCITED TO BE JOINING YOU GUYS ON YOUR JOURNEY AND HOPEFULLY SOME OF YOU WILL JOIN ME ON MINE. I AM A 35 YEAR OLD LICENSED PSYCHOTHERAPIST AND CERTIFIED ADDICTION PROFESSIONAL WITH A PASSION FOR HELPING OTHERS. I HAVE BEEN IN THE FIELD SINCE 2008 AND I HAVE CLASSIC CLINICAL TRAINING IN COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERPY, RATIONAL EMOTIVE BEHAVIOR THERAPY AND REALITY THERAPY. HOWEVER, MY REAL PASSION IS ECO-THERAPY.

I HAVE BEEN TEACHING PEOPLE SUFFERING WITH MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL ISSUES HOW TO SCUBA DIVE FOR THE PAST THREE YEARS AND IT HAS BEEN AN ABSOLUTE BLAST. I AM A BELIEVER IN THE NATURAL HEALING POWER OF NATURE AND I ENCOURAGE EVERYONE I WORK WITH TO SPEND TIME IN NATURE CONSISTENTLY. FOR ANYONE OUT THERE WHO HAS SPENT TIME SCUBA DIVING YOU KNOW THE POSITIVE IMPACT IT CAN HAVE ON YOUR LIFE. OUR SENSES ARE ALL STIMULATED IN NEW AND EXCITING WAYS HELPING US PROCESS INFORMATION DIFFERENTLY. I USE THIS TO HELP PEOPLE HEAL AND DISCOVER THINGS ABOUT THEMSELVES THEY WERE UNAWARE OF. ASLO THE PRINCIPALS OF SCUBA ARE DIRECTLY RELATABLE TO THE RECOVERY PROCESS. I WILL GO INTO THIS MORE IN A LATER POST.

I AM STOKED TO START LEARNING AND CONNECTING WITH THE STEEMIT COMMUNITY AND HOPEFUL FOR THE FUTURE. MAKE THE REST OF TODAY AWESOME!

Great idea, Scuba therapy! I like it!

It is an absolute blast getting to witness peoples first experience with scuba and then watch as they grow as a person through he healing power of the ocean and fellowship

I can imagine. I've seen horse therapy and dog therapy help a lot, but can really imaging the growth with the Scuba, especially if they have some anxiety and fear to begin with, what a great way to build confidence while also building some trust and social interaction with their dive buddy and friends. Great idea!

I know you're excited but ALL CAPS is hard to read. I have always dreamed of scuba diving one day, I have dreams of diving .

it was a complete accident.. I thought it was weird that is was all caps but just shrugged it off thinking that was how it was supposed to be for your first post. Learning things already! thanks for the comment. have a great evening.
