The social sounds, grunts, farts and burps from this group of males lying on the beach in the South Shetland Islands is amusing and a tad disturbing. I am glad that when men get together we don’t smell or behave too much like Elephant seals do.. Too much….
This fella wasn’t too happy in his current position in the wallow ~ a wallow is a group of elephant seals that pile up on one another whilst they molt in order to maintain body heat. My guess is that a 3ish tonne seal was lying on a more sensitive body part. A foot maybe..??

😂 funny. The male seals lazying about all day 'living the life'
they will basically laze around like that for roughly a month whilst they regenerate their skin and fur... it smells pretty bad
