I can never tire of spending time with these insanely amazing apex predators. My countless encounters with them over the past decade from various parts of the world only makes me want to spend even more time with them. However, it does look like I have decided to take a break from my 'work' that I have been doing for the past seven years, as a whale watching zodiac driver and operations manager.
I am going to miss spending my summer hanging out with these animals daily, meeting people from around the world whilst educating them about the marine ecosystem that is the Pacific North West. A new chapter is calling. The good news though is that I will still be working with them but in a different capacity, which is exciting. At the end of the day I am pretty damn excited about this year, 2018!

Beautiful light on that water Thomas!
Cheers, Cam! it was one heck of a beautiful night out that evening.
Wow... great photo orca foraging. Amazing @thomas
Thanks!
We saw a pod of these just off Bainbridge take out a seal back when we lived in Seattle. It was incredible. Horrific. But incredible. They're amazing animals. Kind of taught our young kids about life a little earlier than we expected O_o
This does happen quite a bit and can lead to awkward conversations with kids sometimes. It could have been worse if they were mating..?? just saying 😊
ROTFL - well guys, they really really like each other don't they!!
I went whale watching while I was in Sri Lanka. It was an unforgettable experience..
I have heard that Sri Lanka is amazing for whale watching. did you see any Blue Whales?
We have, and it was incredible. :) However the tour agencies that organize these kind of tours have shitty old boats that pollute the sea and make a lot of noise and we were pissed of by this. Yo can read more in my article about our Sri Lankan adventure. See you out there !
Orca's will be missing you too for sure hehe. =) Wish you best to that another new exciting life waiting for you this year! @thomasjmitchell
I like to think they will but honestly - they do not need us around. its us who needs them 😊 Thanks!!!
Spending time with nature is simply quality time that nothing and nobody compares to anything, it is life and life is love we must always try to preserve our environment by giving back a little of that incredible love that second gives us.
Well said! I look forward to spending my time in new natural settings I have yet to discover and share it with new friends I have yet to meet 😊😊😊
