I've been on Steemit for a long time, as an observer. I noticed that people mostly write about positive things, which is good. But, in my opinion, Steemit should be a platform to point out and talk about problems. This is one of the ways to solve problems. When I say a problem, I'm thinking about problems that concern us all. According to nature and our environment, we must be responsible! Everything will return to us as boomerang!
I am someone who loves birds, and this is a problem that disturbs me very much.
Many species, especially water birds, from eastern Europe travels to the shores of the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. A large part of the species flies across the Mediterranean Sea to Africa. In countries that are located between these destinations, birds stay to rest. In these countries begins the slaughter of birds, which nobody wants to recognize. In Serbia, 200 000 birds are killed in the illegal hunting. Because my country is on the path to bird migration, illegal-hunters are in great action.
One of the ways is "vrbilica" - these are devices with speakers, which are placed in the fields. These apparatus broadcast sounds that release certain animals when they are mating. At the time of mating, birds do not know for fear. Because of the sound coming from the speakers, they approach these devices. Then it starts slaughtering without borders.
Illegal-hunters kill them, then transport them and sell them to rich countries - in which these birds are food specialties. Because of bad regulations and a lot of money in circulation, our government (like other governments in the region) doesn't react at all.
These "vrbilice" are forbidden by law, but you can easily buy them online.
Also, hunters are using glue for mice. This brutal technique is even more dangerous. Illegal-hunters with this glue cover branches of trees. After a couple of days they come to pick up birds, who were dying for hours and days.
The most brutal way is to blind the male, or stab him with a branch. He then screams out, and with that sound attracts other birds, who are being killed.

near the place where i live, there was some motel, and it was always full of such ‚‚hunters" - mostly Italians, Germans or Austrians.
i got to know that none of them wouldnt even cme across the border without having someone in border police, usually some crap cop they can buy for couple hundreds of euros.
their traps never survived long though.. because there is too much local hunters. but they did their business for years.
they had their local "servants" too, who were more than happy to guide them for spare cash. it never gone public, but theres a story that they had unpleasant visit in their motel one night. not sure what happened, but motel is closed, and theres no speakers in the fields anymore.
