RE: A study of mesopelagic fish found that 73 % of them had plastic in their gut!

Yes, that's a very good point, @bala41288. If we stop using plastic in the first place, we have much less to recycle, and I completely agree that this is a good strategy to stopping the pollution. It's very unfortunate, but plastic is sadly very cheap and useful for companies to use when packaging any product, so while w e consumers can do a lot, we still need to convince the companies that uses plastic to change to a more expensive option, which is not easy at all.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting!

Yes quite true. Even if they find alternatives for plastics people should be ready to accept it and go for alternatives. That's where the challenge lies. :-)

We do already have nice alternatives, including fully biodegradable plastic. But people don't use it because it is slightly more expensive, and a bit less durable.

Yes, that is true but if the alternatives are available in abundance, then there is a possibility that people might then go for alternatives. But change starts from the individual. We will try to use alternatives and there will be circumstances where we may find it difficult to avoid plastics. Execpt for those situations, it will be good to make it as a self descipline.
