Currently Happening In My Garden
These are my plants I cover up with two olds sheets when the temps are going down to freezing and below.
I uncover them on nice days.
They are tucked in close to my portrait window by my kitchen with an eastern exposure.
They really look great because we have had a warm winter.
I'm actually very surprised at how good they look because several nights when it was 35-39 F they were uncovered!
Of course I already shared some daffodils a week ago, but I cut back the old lantana growth yesterday that they were under, so that I could enjoy them better!
About a week ago I was out at a store picking up a few items and spied these bulbs.
I bought them because I'm quite anxious to start gardening again!
Another reason to buy early, is the bulbs aren't picked over and I get to select the ones I want.
I always plant lots of caladiums for their color in my yard every year.
They add color from late spring through fall.
As you most of you know, my goal is to attract butterflies and/or bees or other pollinators to my yard/flower gardens.
So these packages are tucked away in my cool garage waiting until our last freeze and then I'll start planting!
And I couldn't resist, I bought 2 sets of gardening gloves for my nieces who are almost 3 and 4 to let them "plant" something with me this spring!

Ice is definitely worse than snow!! We have had some bad ice storms over the years!

Felt like spring was here today in Michigan. Hit 53, and that is quite warm when used to -15!!!
Oh wow, that's crazy and I thought we had wild temperature swings in North Texas.
Yes Michigan can really be brutal! Would you believe back to a low of 12 on Friday night!!!! A body can never get used to or acclimated to a temperature with such crazy swings lol!!
