This is Aletsch Glacier, the largest glacier in the Alps. This huge river of ice that stretches over 23km (and shrinking unfortunately), is quite intimidating in person. This picture was taken from Bettmerhorn viewpoint at over 2,647m, from where you could still see the turquoise glacier crevasses down below.

Impressive! I didn't realize that was a river of ice at first. Nature is a trip sometimes. Great shot!
Thank you! Yes I also first thought it was a road/highway when I saw it, but no highway is 1km wide like this glacier!
