Talking about Navratri it is festival of victory over demons , feminine , joy and happiness. In Navratri we worship goddess durga. Navratri’’ is a Sanskrit word where ‘Nav’ means nine and ‘Ratri’ means nights.

It is a nine day festival in India and on the tenth day, the concluding ceremony is done. During these nine days, we worship Goddess Durga and her other idols. From the very first day, all the idols of goddess Durga are being designed and decorated in such a way that they look immensely beautiful and it absolutely seems like they have come to life again.

This festival is celebrated for 9 nights and 10 days. The last day of this festival is celebrated as ‘Vijaya Dashmi’ or ‘Dussehra’, the day when lord ‘Rama’ won over ‘Ravana’ according to Ramayana.

Everyday of Navratri is celebrated with nine different forms of goddess Durga

1 Day - ''Goddess shailaputri'' colour associated on
that Day is red.
2 Day - ''Goddess Brahmcharini'’ colour associated
that Day is Royal blue.
3 Day - ''Goddess Chandraghanta'' colour associated
on that Day is yellow.
4 Day - ''Goddess kushmunda” colour associated on
that Day is Green.
5 Day - ''Goddess Skandmata” colour associated on
that Day is Grey.
6 Day - ''Goddess katyayani'' colour associated on
that Day is Orange.
7 Day - ''Goddess kalratri” colour associated on that
Day is white.
8 Day - ''Goddess Mahagauri'' colour associated on
that Day is pink.
9 Day - ”Goddess Sidhidatri'' and also known
has saraswati Devi.

In Bengal Navratri is known as Durga puja, Huge pandals are made which are decorated and people visit these ceremonial pandals to worship Goddess Durga.

In Gujarat, people gather in groups to perform the Dandiya and Garba dance. The dandiya sticks of various colours are used. Some people also throw dry colours on each other.

Many devotees fast for entire nine days during the festival. They chant various mantras and slokas while worshiping the deity.

Navratri celebrated in every parts of India from north to south and west to east and also in world wide country's by Hindu people and non-Hindu people.
The Navratri festival is celebrated to mark the expression of Maa Durga in the form of energy.
