#9 NBA Basketball Surprises ( Haas News)

in #nba7 years ago (edited)

The NBA is heading into play-offs push mode almost, teams should really find there chemistry in order to get the best seed before the season end, and this week there were some teams that did great and individual players the deserve to be in this week’s Haas News Surprises list!
Here is my top 5 for the week!

DeMar DeRozan
Since 2009 when he got drafted by the Raptors he elevated his game every year. By now he is a three time All-Star and because of him the Raptors are making noise in the east for years now!
So can he be a surprise still? Maybe not really but if you can lift your team to the second spot in the East and win six straight you deserve to be is this list.
Not convinced? DeMar scored a career high 45 points including 6 three pointers against the Sixers. Not bad for mister midrange! In the other games this week he scored 21,29 and 29, so after Siakam. Vam Vleet and Powel yet another Raptor made my list!

Victor Oladipo
Darren Collison or Victor Oladipo, Darren Collison or Victor Oladipo… difficult pick this week, but I decided to go for Oladipo.
He was playing great alongside Russell Westbrook and got traded because the wanted other more household stars, if you ask me Oladipo will be an All-star this year!
The Pacers are doing quite well, going 7-3 for their last 10 games and lost against Boston only by one point.
Oladipo scored 38 points twice this week so he just had to be on the list! So, for now two household names really stepped up this week.

Jerami Grant
OKC squeezed itself into the 8th seed for now after a rocky start the team won 4 games straight this week! Last week Steven Adams made it to the list after his triple overtime heroic performance. Hopefully the chemistry is getting better and better because I really want to see them in the play-offs.
One of the rivals for the 8th spot is Utah Jazz (my favorite team growing up) this week OKC beat Utah twice.
We all know OKC has a lot off fire power and talent but this week I want to pick Jermani Grant as player of the week, scoring around 10 points a game, without having plays drown up for him. He does whatever it takes to be on the floor and help the team.

Jamal Crawford
This guy is just a legend, winning multiple sixth men of the year awards and still being in the NBA at age 39! Many teams would love him to be on their team to get some help of the bench. Minnesota will most likely make the play-offs and the veteran help of Crawford is huge.
This week he was able to have two twenty-plus games to help the team win. Keep being yourself, Jamal! Well done

James Harden
We all know how good he is and one day he will be the MVP of the NBA I even think this year. Having 8 and 9 assists and scoring 51 points is just surreal!
Very interesting to see how far they can go in the play-offs
Some weeks the rookies take over or the role players shine,. This week’s NBA top performers are all household names, but what can you do they were just great! Will be back next week with hopefully more rookies that shine!

@heyitshaas Harden is an offensive nightmare, but gives it back on D, he needs to step up, theres no "I" in team. He will always just be in the running. Victor Oladipo is the biggest surprise to me. I think he learned a lot while playing beside young Russ in OKC. I am seeing a lot of similarities in their game this year in how he creates space. An he is playing aggressive. Most improved player of the year by far. Thanks! Have a Merry Christmas! Enjoyed the article!

haha, indivudual Raptors made it to the list four times already, but they are doing well
