The National Basketball Association has a great Rookie class in 2017/18 and they're helping cement the change in the NBA's style of play.
The NBA is Changing
The NBA's style of play has changed completely from the era of brutality led by Olajuwon, Robinson & Shaq to the era of the 6'5"+ penetration guard euro-stepping about the court like some sort of MMA ballerina. He's kicking passes from under the basket to 7 foot tall 3 point shooters like Embiid & Kristaps. The ROY leaderboard is pushing this change with its lightning fast crossover penetration, assists and a few rainstorms of 3's.
# My NBA ROY Favorites
- Donovan Mitchell - Jazz, Guard
- Kyle Kuzma - Lakers, Forward
- Ben Simmons - Philly, Guard
Others worth mentioning
- Lonzo Ball - Lakers, Guard
- Jayson Tatum - Celtics, forward
The 2 forwards on the list can both handle the ball, throw some ankle breakers, hit 3 pointers and hit the rim hard. Most of the pundits seem to love Ben Simmons, a lot. I love Donovan Mitchell and if he stays healthy he will win the ROY award.
Who are your top 3 ROY picks?

Ben Simmons is going to win ROY. He is getting all the attention in Philly. Donovan Mitchell is exceeding expectations in Utah but he is only averaging 18 ppg, 3 reb and 3 ast. While Simmons is 17-9-8 on 51% FG. Simmons in a lock at the moment.
Many share your opinion, he is great.
Plus I got him free for Christmas in the NBA live app wooT. So did everyone else but still...
I liked all your choices besides Lonzo.
I think he is a good player but he is just not there yet.
You should check out the NBA contest on my blog.
Yeah Lonzo has work to do for sure. I will!
Kuzma lighting it up Christmas night!
Donovan = ROY :)
