Last night I asked if the Sacramento Kings were the real deal in western conference playoff race. There were points in last nights game where you could say either were possible. In the first half they could not stop the Miami Heat,it seemed on they would score on every single one of their possessions. The same could be said for the start of the 3rd quarter, then when they were they were facing their largest deficit head coach Dave Joerger was given a technical foul. The Kings were down by 19 and looked to be done for the night. Then after the tech the Kings bench went on a 19-0 run to tie the game early in the 4th quarter. Shortly after the game was tried Joerger decided to put the starters back in the game to finish it up. But the offense dried up and they ended up losing it. The Miami Heat had a really good game plan defensively to stop Cousins and it seemed at times that their offense was working much better with him off the floor, which is very hard to believe. That being said the bench did a spectacular job of getting them all the way back from down 19 and stepping up in a big way when their star was having an off night. So if Cousins was having an off night and the bench did such a great job why did Joerger put Cousins and other starters back in the game? Did the bench use up so much energy in the comeback that they just didn't have the energy to finish it? Did Joerger want to show conference in his top guys, let them know he trusts them in the big moments even if they are having an off night? So in all it was another puzzling night for a franchise trying to find its way back to the postseason.
