I spent the weekend working on a new cross stitch project design. Because I haven't had a chance to start it yet I decided to show off one of my older ones. This was based on the pattern I found in some random magazine but I added the black Stitch around the iris to give it a more formal look.
I actually took first place at the Western Montana Fair in the cross stitch category a couple years ago with this piece. Winning all of $3. This is one of my favorite pieces and I'm happy to have it framed and on display in my home.
Beautiful! I didnt know theres a competition for stitching. Congrats for the winning btw!
Thank you! The Western Montana Fair, and most county fairs in the west and midwest US, have crafting shows where you can enter to win ribbons and small prizes. You can enter handcrafts, photography, baked goods, and brewed beers.
That is beautiful
Thank you!
I absolutely love black work. Very beautiful

I am glad you liked it, it is one of my favorite pieces that I have ever done. And the only big one I have ever kept and had framed. Thank you!
