NEEDLEWORKMONDAY: YARNBOMB INSTALLATION

in #needleworkmonday6 years ago (edited)

Hello everybody,

On this post am sharing with you another milestone of our crochet group here in Cebu. Our 1st YARNBOMB for the year 2019, the 2 trees within the vicinity of The Outlet, Pueblo Verde, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, Philippines.

Last Saturday, Jan 05, just before lunch time we all met at 10 DC, a coffee shop where we assembled and joined the crocheted items of the 2 groups. I belong to the granny making squares while others made mandalas, triangles, flowers and filet with alphabets.

The other groups were assigned to the other Tree. Their theme: Mountains, Sea, Sky and Earth related...

Happiness, with same passion flock together!

Oh, by the way, we were all grateful the Universe granted us with a good not to hot weather on installation day. A little nervous on that morning, praying it would not rain for yesterday before that day, it was raining.

Last Jan 03 was the collecting or submission of the crocheted Items...

Such a great project for your community! Very cool!

Thank you @jamethiel...actually our group was commissioned by the marketing officer, so their trees will be attractive, many took selfies as their background...

Wow... What a beautiful artwork... It´s a very poetic installation, full of tenderness. It's one of those things worth belonging to the Steemit family for.

Greetings from Venezuela... I'll follow you, upvote and resteemit ♥

Thank you much @yomismosoy for appreciating handworks, especially crochet. I follow you, too.

I love it! So many beautiful colors and so many happy people! Just imagine all the people that go there - how many smiles your work will produce :)

Do you know the Steemit Worldmap? It's a project to gather photos from all around the world made by Steemians on one big map (and link to the posts to see what they wrote). If you go there you can search directly for Pueblo Verde - there are already some photos of other places in the area. I think most of them are from tourists so your view as someone who lives there will probably be different. In the FAQ they have a neat little video how to do pin a post to the map, it's not very complicated.

Thank you much @muscara for appreciating it...I will try to search this STEEMIT Map...thank you again

Wonderful crochet installation. Especially the tree with the pictures of space, aliens and planets and the little house - wow. All motives are beautiful. And to work together on such a big project must have been fun.

Yes @ neumannsalva really fun...we rarely see each other in person just only posting what we make. Camaraderie is true happiness with same passion...

This is so lovely and so inspiring! I love all of the different themes and colors. I was going to ask you how you all go about doing this, if you had to ask permission. I see that you all were commissioned by the marketing officer, how cool is that!

I bet it’s amazing to see this as people walk by. Everyone looked so happy and joyful putting these together and hanging them on the trees. What do you all use to attach them to the trees, push pins?

Thanks so much for sharing. I would love to get a group together in my town too. Too bad I don’t know many other needlers here.

Thank you @crosheille...First the Admin had a poll who will join making 20" by 20" Granny Squares any size as along as it add all when joined to 20" by 20"...others Circles and triangles...the other group Mountains, sky , sea n earth theme to choose...2. when many volunteered, one in charge was choosen in every each shapes so they pm the team leader to coordinate...3rd the Admin set the submission date 4th Admin set the installation date. The admins went to the site already got the body figure of the trees so that they knew already the sizes to be assigned...on submission day, the admins sew already to join... but In our group with the circles , squares and triangle Yes it was push pin first then joined on the spot with chains and some, joined with needles...on the upper part, the marketing group send utility men to climb the Trees, and helped to assemble up...

You’re welcome! Wow that sounds so organized and everyone works together! That’s neat how you join some of the parts with chains on the spot! Thank you for throughly explaining the process to me! Very inspiring and amazing work here!

I’m also glad to see you got the logo attached to your post!! 😃👍🏽

The trees look beautiful... so colourful
Do you'll then just leave it there?
What if it rains?
Is it a tradition of sorts?
Why is this done?
So many questions.... sorry... hahahah ... Just so curious :D

Yes just leave there, rain or shine. @kaerpediem this is not tradition. Some sort of Marketing Strategy, so that many will visit the place.
