Needleworkmonday: Tutorial of boy's swimsuit

in #needleworkmonday5 years ago

Greetings my dear friends of the Hive platform, especially to the #needleworkmonday community, today I bring you a step by step of how to make a swimsuit for a child. My main inspiration is my only 5-year-old son, who practices swimming (we know that at the moment not because of the quarantine), but what better time than this to make him a new swimsuit. So come join me for inspiration and learning together.

The first thing I did was locate a swimsuit pattern (my mother lent me one I had saved for years). But you can also get it at the web.

Then we take the lycra type fabric we divide it in half and take out 2 pieces of each

The cut is also removed from the front piece with a background cloth.

Having all the pieces cut, we begin to join it: 1) we join the two back pieces by the shot, 2) the front piece is also joined by the shot, 3) the back piece is joined with the front piece by the side and finally 4) the bottom is attached.

Finally, on the waist side, the rubber (50 cm) is joined to the fabric (the rubber must be stretched to cover the entire waist contour), with a zic-zac seam. Then a double is made and sewn in a straight line around the waist. A small hem is grabbed by the leg area.
