Hi there folks, this isn’t technically needlework so I hope it’s ok to use the tag. It’s a craft project up cycling old t-shirts.
I saw this on a TV show called “Knock It Off” and wanted to do it.
I find inexpensive canvas from my local craft shop and stretch the tee over it as you would stretch a canvas.
I would just buy the stretchers, but for some reason it’s much cheaper to buy the premades.
I drilled holes for the handles, which aren’t really necessary. The holes are, not the handles 😊.
Then attach the hinges to the canvas and the mount to the shelf.
For laminate shelves, I had to remove it to expose the compressed board wood.
Hope this inspires to help hide the incomplete projects.
Happy #needleworkmonday
post? I totally enjoyed this site and used the 'automatic' chart maker, thanks again !I shall show @tinygalaxy as she needs a good way to hide stuff on a few shelves. Incidentally, @oceanmoon any updates on your
Nice! The reveal is coming up soon. Beginning of June. Thanks for asking! Isn’t that program cool? I checked it out too and haven’t decided what I’d like to make yet.
Good luck to @tinygalaxy there’s lots of ways to be creative with that project. 😁
That is a neat way to add some interesting doors to a bookshelf.
Thanks @jamethiel it took abou two hours and it’s great to have t-shirts I can’t wear anymore in view daily. 🌺
What a fun porkect, @oceanmoon! I love the idea of saving an old t-shirt that you want to see more of. Great job. Happy #NeedleworkMonday to you!
Thanks @crystalize 🌺
Great idea. Thanks for sharing. Regards.
I like the way you're using these as faux doors...they definitely change the look of that storage cabinet!

Such a creative and practical idea. I have so many bookshelfs which are full of dust - ok, instead of thinking about copying your doors, I could clean the books :-D But I like your idea better.
It’s a great craft project, totally got it from a craft show on TV 😊
