Repair of elongated tunic's hem/

in #needleworkmonday7 years ago (edited)

This is my favorite tunic, but the hem has expanded while I was wearing it.
I can not go out wearing this because it looks sloppy.
I thought there was a good way to repair this.
And I found a rubber thread from the sewing box.
The color of the rubber thread was similar to the tunic, so it seemed that it could be used.
I decided to knit this thread at the hem.

いつ買ったものか思い出せませんが…^^;

The finish is like this.
In this case, I can still wear it.
It was repairable in a simple way. Rubber thread is useful for repairing elongated knit products.

You did such a neat job of mending that stretched out hem! At first I couldn't even tell where you had repaired it! :) what a great idea to fix it up instead of getting rid of it.

I repaired the elongated hem very easily. However, until I noticed this method I thought of various ways in my mind.

dear sumi

Hello@sajumiah. Thank you for your comment.

Good idea @sumi... I have threaded some of that shirring elastic on cuffs and collars too - very useful !

I am glad to know that you are using it the same way.

これは大したワザは要りませんよ^^;

気に入ってヘビロテするとニットは伸びてしまうので困りますね^^;

Well done! Was it always gathered at the bottom or is that due to the rubber thread? Either way, I like the effect.

Thank you for your comment.
It is because of rubber thread that gathered to the bottom.
