Needlework Monday – New life of an old scarf :)

in #needleworkmonday7 years ago

Hi, Steemit!!!

Today is the #NeedleworkMonday!!! In Israel it got colder: the season of torrential rains began. There is such an anecdote: "Winter came to Israel, the Israelis wore winter shorts and winter slaps" :))) In fact, we got warm clothes :)

Earlier it was my favorite scarf: warm, soft as a fluff. I do not even know how many years he was with me. Of course, the end of all things comes. I do not like nostalgia for things but I could not throw it away :))) The yarn is amazing. So I turned it into such a warm pelerine.

I knit him with knitting needles, and then I made the cords around the edges crocheted.

I had to tinker with a lot of old yarn, but I'm very glad that I did not give up. Now I continue to wear this "scarf" - a pelerine and I'm happy that I feel warm in it :)

I wish you creative inspiration and look forward to your work !!!

Красивая перелина. Молодец, что продолжаешь вязать.

This is beautiful and the knitting blends really well with the crochet. I firstly thought that everything was knitted :-D
And the weather here is not better I think, no snow, only rain and 10 degree...

Yes, the weather is not very pleasant :) thanks

I like it! I have not seen anything like this before. It looks warm and cozy, but also fashionable. And I like the combination of knit and crochet. Good job!

thanks, anise! I've seen similar pelerines before and I really liked them. for the first time did not go bad but the second time I would have made corrections

That's what makes us better! And they say the third time is a charm! 😀

at least for the third time there is a chance to make fewer mistakes in the work :)))

I really like the addition of the crochet border @tali72... and reusing that lovely soft yarn
:)

Thanks, cryptocariad

Here she goes again!! You’re like a repurposing Queen!!! 😃😉 You are very good at making old things new again. I love how you used a combination of knit and crochet! It is very trendy and looks soft and cozy. Another job well done Tala!!!! Thanks for sharing your work with us today ~

thank you, dear!!!! I hope this winter is not too hard for you and you feel good!

It’s been a mild Winter so far. Surprisingly our temperatures have been in the 40’s to 60’s!!! I’m hanging in there, thank you sweet friend ~

This is great! I love the idea of reworking an old favorite and giving it new life!

Thanks! :)

Gorgeous reworking. I love that you were able to take a piece you love and turn it into something new.

Thanks!

Hi @tali72! Your work is always so astonishing and fashionable. I love to see the new life that you are able to breathe into older pieces. If you lived near me I would ask you to make one for me. Happy #NeedlworkMonday, my dear! Resteeming!

Thank you, dear!!!! in the ability to give new life to old things, I'm far away from you !!!! I always admire your works

We are both all about the restoration!

that's for sure! :) when I read with what amazing fabrics you work: vintage dresses, scarves, lace ... it is worth saving in any form !!!!

It truly is. I'm so glad that people are willing to store boxes for decades and decades, filled with amazing textiles from the past!

Wow, you are very creative! This piece is just like a jewelry, i would also wear it!

Ooooh! Thank you, kalemandra

What a beautiful piece! Love this so much, and it goes with pretty much any color you wear.
