RE: Filet crochet jumper - #needleworkmonday

Congrats on starting to make yarn money. It is always a great feeling to be able to make money off of something that your enjoy.

Did you work top-down or bottom-up and did you start with a chain or foundation row? I love the ribbing at the bottom; I did not know that you could do that with crochet. You have almost inspired me to try making a piece of clothing more fitted than a shawl :)

Hi @thuban, the sweater is worked bottom up. The ribbing is crocheted first, then a foundation row of single crochet worked down the long side of the rib, then onto the main filet pattern. This way everything is crocheted together from the start and its on!y weaving in ends later :) front and back and worked separatly and seamed with single crochet down the sides and along shoulders. Neckline is then crocheted onto the space. Yarn is joined for sleeves and filet pattern continued.

I was surprised by how good the ribbing came out! Such a simple method and looks like it took a lot more time! To start i chain 13, then single crochet in each chain (12 sc). Every row from then is sc in backloops - so straightforward :) give it a shot!

Very cleverly done, indeed. It really does look more complicated. I might have to put this in my queue to give it a try; at the very least I need to add that ribbing to my repertoire. Thanks!
