needlework monday

I made this hat for my baby in a hurry as the days are getting windier and her hats are too small now. I will probably add more to it later or make some chains to weave into it but for now it keeps her ears covered. Thanks for checking it out.

quick instructions
row1: chain 5 and slip st in first chain, chain 3, dbl crochet 12 into chain hole. slip stitch into first dbl crochet.
row2: chain 3, dbl crochet 2 in every stictch slip st into first dbl. (24 st)
row 3: chain 3 dbl crochet 1 in first st, 2 in second. repeat 1,2,1,2, til end slip st in first dbl crochet. (36)
row4: chain 3 dbl crochet 1 in the frist and second st, and 2 in the third st. repeat 1,1,2 until end, sl stitch in first dbl. (48)
row5-8-9?: i think we get the concept now, continue to make your circle as big as it needs to be to fit the top of the head.
rows 10ish to 17ish: chain 3, dbl crochet in every stitch around, sl stitch in first dbl.
continue until you have the desired length. that's it, you can choose to add a row of single crochet to make it tighter on the head, but i prefer to leave mine loose for my babies, leaves room to add on if their heads do not get bigger around.

Adorable! Both the beanie and the baby!!

Does this make her a beanie baby? lol

Nice warm hat for your baby. Stitched very neatly! Thanks for sharing the instructions!

Isn't it great to just be able to whip something up when you need to! It's a fine skill that not as many people can do these days. Cute hat...and baby! Smart mama!

Yes, I originally wanted to learn to crochet as a end-of-society kind of skill, and I'm very glad i picked it up. It's so entertaining and relaxing and yes, I can whip something up in a moments time. lost a sock? Give me ten minutes!! Thank you for your praise, I hope to be as good as you all soon!!
