I hate that guy. Neil deGrasse Tyson definitely does not have a cosmic perspective. The fame he got from being a "the public scientist" together with Bill Nye got in his head. He dumbed down together with his explanations.

Sounds like you're pretty emotional about it to say you hate him. No doubt there are opinions I don't agree with but to say he "definitely does not have a cosmic perspective" is a bit laughable considering his credentials and the content produced (both public and academic). You may think he is egotistical or narcissistic, but to claim he doesn't know what he's talking about says more about the person making the claim than Neil deGrasse Tyson.
What does it mean to have a cosmic perspective?
Wanting the best for your species?
Being in piece with yourself?
Being in piece with the universe?
Seeing events happening on Earth with the
indifference of the universe?
Whatever it is, he does not have those perspectives. Seeing his Tweets and his statements on StarTalk, he's none of that above.
That being said, I respect his aim and motivation. He want's to bring science to everybody and this is at the very least a honorable pursue.
Also I think he knows what he's talking about, if he wouldn't there is no way he's where he is right now. I only think he often misses the main point of the phenomenon he tries to explain while often trying to hard to sound mystical and deep to the point I can only listen to him after smoking a few joints.
