Did you benefit from today's ONT airdrop on Binance? I know I sure did!! Three days ago Binance announced that it would support the Ontology (ONT) Airdrop by the NEO Council to all NEO holders that took place today at 1:00 pm. As a gift to the community, the NEO Council decided to airdrop 20,000,000 (twenty million) ONT tokens to NEO token holders, which translated into 0.2 ONT for each NEO held by an individual.
Although by no means am I expecting to get rich off this amount of ONT, it was a nice reward just for owning NEO. In fact, NEO has been one of my most successful coins I've held thus far.
Benefits of NEO
Unlike some cryptocurrency holders, I'm no day trader. I buy and HODL my coins for the long haul. Though I wouldn't consider myself Warren Buffet by any means, I do follow this methodology of investing rather than trying to time the markets correctly by day trading. This is precisely why I invested in NEO.
Unlike many other coins, NEO pays you to HODL it and it pays you in GAS. So you can consider this much like dividends are to stocks. So instead of only generating income when the price of your cryptocurrency increases, you can also earn money just for hold NEO. This provides another method for which you are able to earn a bit more cryptocurrency just for utilizing Binance. However, if you're in the United States you will first need to purchase an intermediary cryptocurrency first as you can not just simply buy straight from Binance. Thus, you will first need to purchase another cryptocurrency like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, or Litecoin first from Coinbase and then transfer these funds to Binance. The good news is that Binance offers very low transaction fees and are free if you trade Binance (BNB).
Conclusion
Keep your eyes out for more Air Drops in the coming future from Binance! This is a great way to earn a small amount of cryptocurrency for absolutely nothing!
Do you know if Bittrex supported the ONT airdrop too?!
No unforunately I don't believe that is the case. The airdrop should have already taken place tho. so if you hold NEO on Bittrex double check your account.
