There's a few things I'm doing differently this time around for the upcoming season, and I've been working to switch that around as of late. Some of you may have noticed the gradual changes already:
I'm not a fan of the sheer amount of bots that come to our server and just hang around, whilst we don't get all of them we try and get the harmful and annoying ones out as fast as we can.
To counteract this I've implemented an interaction clause on our discord. That means if you join and idle then the discord wont be open to you - you have to participate to see the goodies. I did this for several reasons; mainly the bots, but I would like to also encourage those that own none of our tokens to participate as well.
New joiners will come and see a practically empty server. There is nothing there. However there is a welcome lounge and it only takes until mee6 Level two for the server to open up to you. Technically that isn't much chat at all - but it's enough so that I (or another admin) can ascertain whether you are human or not.
It's a fair swap. You chat a little and we get to know who you are!
I've also implemented a timeout as well, so users that have been inactive for four days will slip down a level and then a further one every consecutive day of non-chat until our lowest tier is reached. However, again, it only takes until mee6 level 2 to get back there again. It's just to encourage chat on our server - as we are highly participatory as well, we always have been.
Dragons, Centurions, Legionnaires and Clansmen are obviously invulnerable to this because they have taken the time to accrue stake in our project and can idle as much as they like.
You can reach clansman via chatting though, and once you do, then you will be invulnerable too - however it will take a lot of chatting to get there.
There will also be chat rewards going out every Monday morning via bot. I was hoping to have that set up but I am having an issue with my bot receiving DM's so I can't effectively test out my workflow. I'll get there though. I'll say next Monday to have it worked out and then we'll see what goodies we can send out via bot.
Currently I've set it at:
- 1st Place: 10 LGN
- 2nd Place: 5 LGN
- 3rd Place: 3 LGN
- 4th Place: 2 LGN
- 5th Place: 1 LGN
Depending how this goes I may throw in tidbits of BRO, Cine and Gifu too - we'll see. I'd like to get it started mainly, anyway.
