Why did you join crypto?

Since I'm on a roll with this new found passion for writing I'd like to lean more towards inspiration rather than boring old project posts that can feel a little mundane at times.

I mean yes, they do have their place, and they need to be talked about. For example our finances, where we're headed, what we're up to, plans for the future and so on -- but there's only so much I can write about, and err.. I enjoy writing, so I'd like to delve deeper into the fundamental concepts of crypto.

Like,

Why did you join crypto?

I know why I did.

My wife and I at the time had just lost our jobs due to being made redundant, and there was literally no help anywhere for us.

We had to put up or shut up.

The bankers that caused this mess managed to get away scot free, with just a slap on the wrist -- whilst the rest of us had to suffer deeply because of their mistakes.

I mean if you ask me I still think it was organised. Organized chaos to kickstart the decay of the west and western values.

If you look at the years since 2008 we've sort of slipped into a decay of degeneracy; where craziness is upheld and rewarded, and true morality and sticking to your principles is seen as white supremacy or any of the other "ist" words that fit.

So at the time I was looking for something different. I had just been betrayed by my job, by my bank, and soon to be the government, there had to be something else out there that was better, that had meaning, that had higher purpose.

That's where I stumbled across Dogecoin no less. @beardoin was mining himself some doge when it just began and he was looking to sell it off for a whole bitcoin at the time; which he might as well have told me that he was mining the scharquar to buy some kifidenom - the language was alien to me.

But it had value to my friend, and that was the main point. I wanted to find out where that perceived value stemmed from, why does he want it?

So I spent a good six months diving down all the rabbit holes of decentralization I could find.

How bitcoin solves the Byzantine General's Problem,

How decentralized systems can promote a freer and healthier society, not spoonfed by governmental rule -- and by then I already was a rebellious sort, having worked first hand in the halls of power myself and seeing how they treated regular individuals.

This was like I had stumbled onto some kind of Davinci Code. It wasn't a secret mind you, of course not, but so few people were interested in the work that was taking place behind the scenes it felt as if we were pioneers of a new age.

A new age of tokenization

Here's the kicker though, we still are.

I mean granted it hasn't felt like that over the last 4 years with the stranglehold the last administration has had over every aspect of human life. Finance, social, economic -- it's almost been intolerable to say the least, but I think we're dawning into a bright new era of abundance for us all.

We would be absolutely stupid to not think those in power didn't see this happening. We tend to see rich people as stupid and not understanding the world, because it often feels like that, but I think it's far more sinister. It has to be. How else could you explain what has gone on since 2008; an attempt to seize absolute and total dominant power globally.

That's why food and petrol is high everywhere,

That's why you no longer go out and have fun, but sit in and do something for free at home,

That's why it no longer feels safe to go out.

And that's why wars keep popping up.

You see, it was never ever about fixing the system, because I lived through the 90's. The 90's were probably the most open, abundant and safe era for everyone to exist in. Jobs were available en-masse, house rentals were everywhere and needing renters, and money was free flowing. Not hugely, but most people were somewhat happy and content with life.

Everything was fine until a global free exchange of ideas popped up. This is my theory anyway.

You see, back in the 90's it was fine because we were all in blissful unawareness.

We didn't care.

We were more interested in what we were doing in our small town than anything on a global scale; our leaders were benign rulers that helped the world rather than hindered them -- we were far removed from any idea of the atrocities that was happening abroad under our countries names. Our rulers were free to do what they liked to people, to states and to countries and we would believe what was told to us on TV.

But then the Internet happened.

The Internet happened and democratized information.

Slowly at first.

Remember when Osama Bin Laden flew his men into the twin towers? Yeah, if that was to happen in the early 90's there would have been no question; everyone would have believed it and we would have all been Arab haters.

But a small section of the internet, embedded deep on discussion forums everywhere couldn't quite let go of the idea that 9/11 was an inside job -- which later spread to YouTube with channels that had subscriptions in the hundreds of thousands. YouTube used to be a place to go for conspiracy theory and inspiration; quite the 180 from what it is today.

I mean, it doesn't matter who was involved in 9/11 or who's fault it was, nor do I care 25 years later, the fact was there was discussion about it, leaks, and interviews -- and the tightly held grasp of information that governments used to hold over us was being fed out to regular people by regular people.

This is why we've had disaster after disaster and the populace has been fed fear after fear and as a result we've nuzzled up to safety a bit too much.

I'd kick my own ass 25 years ago if I knew the way I look at the world now.

When you opt for safety you sacrifice freedom. You can't have both. The more of one you sacrifice for the other -- Safety ∝ Freedom.

And this concept right there, this is why I got into crypto. Sure, we need safety, but I like lots of freedom too. Our overlords seem far too overbearing right now and I'd like that pulled back quite a lot.

I would mostly like to buy stuff without the beady eye of control looking over my every move. The freedom to transact is probably one of the most important ones for me, which as we all know is being slowly eroded right now.

That's why I said Trump may have inadvertently opened the flood gates to the democratization of finance, in the same way the military mistakenly opened up the flood gates to the freedom of information.

And with all that said, it's going to be a good one this year my friends. And I'm glad I'm already aboard the rocket ship! Just like you all are too. We are all headed towards a very rich and prosperous future.

Peace!

Sort:

true morality and sticking to your principles is seen as white supremacy

That makes no sense, nobody mistakes morality with white supremacy. White supremacy is the absence of morality, surely?

White supremacy has been the boogeyman to shut down the free exchange of ideas.

Ideas like what?

Long story short: I generally dabble, so I had already dipped my toe in by the time the shit hit the fan in 2020... then I got really bored. !LOL

All the conspiracy stuff: yes.
That's the nutshell anyway... once I woke up to one thing, my eyes were completely open. It's all nonsense. A play. A show. The events of 9/11, for instance, were almost certainly a joint operation by the US intelligence apparatus and the Israeli Mossad.

Just the tip of the iceberg.

Thanks for the prompt, and for the deep thoughts. Best of luck in 2025! 👊
