I don't do that well with my LEO earnings these days, I'm clearly not in the LEO Whale inner-circle.
I have to ignore the LEO front-end rewards which show incorrect amounts, wildly exaggerated, and despite complaints about this in the Discord for a while, it hasn't been resolved.
The Hive-Engine explorer tells me I get about 3-5 LEO a day on my main account, so that's my LEO rewards, since stopped delegating the Leo.Voter, as it just rewards too much poor content.
So at $0.02 LEO that's say $0.10 a post, of course that's an additional $0.10 compared to Hive.
But there is the additional hassle of using IN.LEO
I have to write posts in Peakd as it's much more reliable for saving drafts, so for that $0.10 I need to:
- Cut and paste
- Switch off the beneficiary rewards.
- Ignore the 'vote for the proposal' poop up (HIGHLY annoying)
- Swap the LEO when I eventually get the rewards....
All of that is about 1 minute of labour if I am efficient. and now...
60 * 0.10 = $6, so that's $6 an hour for my additional work....
That's about one third of minimum wage if I convert the figure to UK £££.
Interim Conclusion
At the moment it's not even worth my while cutting and pasting over to the LEO front end for the rewards I get.
Of course IF LEO increases in value then it would all be worthwhile. I'd be on minimum wage if LEO went back up to $6.
But will LEO go back up....?
The price of LEO is so low now it's not really worth selling anymore, I think we wait for further gains in crypto in general and hope LEO rises with it, I can't see it pumping now just from within the Hive.
However, clearly the majority of LEO holders and posters seek to sell the majority of their holdings, just as the case with Hive, and selling clearly that doesn't bother the curators, so I dunno, maybe there is less hope with LEO that with Hive...?
On the plus side it means I can be more relaxed about NOT using the Leo Front End, I mean PeakD is a smoother experience anyway!
Posted Using INLEO
Leo's interface is for a different type of user. You and I prefer peakd, because we like writing long format content.
We may be labeled elitist for saying this, but for the most part, short content is not that valuable. Yes, value is subjective, hence why I most of the time keep this opinion to myself, but I believe I know this much about you over the years.
One thing that I would like to know, would be if there's an app in the works android/apple. Because the inleo experience seems to be more compatible with a smartphone than a browser. But, that is just my personal opinion.
I'm going to make it a point to ask Khal next chance I get.
the in browser works ok on mobile. or as they now call it Progressive Web Apps :D
they had an mobile app and took a lot of shit from apple (android was a bit nicer). maybe something will change now but apple store was not happy with anything that has anything to do with crypto.
So i know some time ago that they will focus on Progressive Web App.
i have an iphone, because my brother gifted me his old phone, but i have grown to hate apple as a company
my hate started long ago when a friend of mine who was pretty tech not smart got one and wanted to transfer a ringtone sound to it. on Android it was 1 minute because of internet speed. on apple it was like 3 hours of installing programs, syncing itunes? with pc and phone...
they usually work longer because they are a closed system and fool prof that does not let everyone install everything they find on internet, but still hate the closeness of it.
I don't get on with the short form, threads at all, maybe it's just time for me to give up on it, but it's a painful time to sell when it's so low in price!
Actually, if I do not mind the occasional blank screen, I only use InLeo, I realized, out of habit, but most I write these days is poetry, so there is no need to tinker too much with the HTML? stuff.
I still wait for Leo to recover, as some moment in the future, when Hive goes up.
I did not tried PeakD in a couple of years, maybe I should see how it is now.
peakd has one great quality. it works 😂 i can't remember when i had a glitch related to the frontend.
But overall it is mostly what you are used to. I need to make an effort to use inleo, because i used peakd before it was even a frontend.
Well all of them have good parts and bad parts, I merely use Leo now as I test their Premium. I do have my issues with them ( cough, CUB, cough).
PeakD is excellent IMO!
I find Leo's front end less intuitive and more 'glitchy' than the other front ends. Not being able to format and edit Threads is annoying. Paying for a subscription to enable these isn't worth it.
I like PeakD for editing and its wallet.
Ecency is good for notifications and, in these low-value HIVE times, its points system allows more earnings to be rewarded.
Yeah I wish one could do more with those Ecency points!
I've stopped using InLeo for now as it just used up time and what I saw in Threads was not that essential. I'm happier using peakd as it just works better for me. I never really cared about getting extra votes. I still think it's good to have choice in front ends to suit different users and encourage innovation.
Agree, more choice of front ends is good for sure!
It was interesting to see the stats from @dalz on how active they each are.
BBHO doing better than LEO
I have no idea about posting long-form, so I can't really comment on that. I also am no financial advisor, but even if you don't use the front end anymore I would consider holding on to the $LEO. It has been 10's of times higher (in $) in the past and very well could go there again.
It might go to zero, but one thing I have noticed is that @khaleelkazi does not stop or quit. That to me marks a project that will ultimately "win".
If your bags are "low value" right now, just write it off and wait. You might be pleasantly surprised!
Also. I was not a "short-former" before either (read "old"), but have embraced it begrudgingly and grown to like it. You never know! 🤣
It was one of the most buggy and user unfriendly front ends I have used. Plus they want to charge for that too whilst also being funded by the DHF.
I had an issue with Inleo as well.
I feel that staking LEO and my delegated SWAP.HIVE don't make a good profit.
Someday I didn't receive the LEO reward from delegated SWAP.HIVE.
So I decided to unstake all my LEO, which is ~2400LEO, and I only got back 1800 liquid LEO.
I raised the ticket in Discord for support and the 1st question from Khal is "Are you sure you had that much Leo to unstake?".
That's weird question in my POV.
The one token I'm glad I sold for profit
After accumulating 15000 LEO and 5000 LBI, I am not even looking to earn LEO for post,
For me, if LEO got value, 15000 is also a good amount, I guess my own "LEO" curation power seldom used effectively.
I liked LEO for their good ideas but they ended up poorly executing them.
They need to understand, unless you master the first thing, you should not be hopping to the second thing.
LEO curation APR sucks, then price sucks, any sane person , thinking logically will not be going to "stake" LEO , we might be staking that we are still hopeful that they will be able to fix the system.
You're still getting good Hive upvotes. My votes for posts are so low now that I don't bother to write any more. I use Peakd. Not worth the effort. I used to get much more. Quite disappointing for me on Hive. I guess the whole crypto market is down anyway.
I think @khaleelkazi is open for any feedback to improve Inleo. I and other people see this place as the biggest chance Hive has for any collaborations and outreach to other crypto projects and people.
