Induction will be given when a pregnant mother does not experience labor on a given day. With induction, triggers contractions in the uterus before the natural occurs.

Induction in the medical world is known as an action to speed up labor. However, doctors do not haphazardly apply this procedure.

There are several ways of natural induction that to this day is still done to stimulate contraction. Some of them indeed trigger the pros and cons.

Types of Induction

Breast stimulation

This method is often performed by medical personnel. Intensive breast stimulation pushes the pituitary gland to release oxytocin that triggers contractions. Research shows that stimulating contractions in this way can also be effective.

A review of the Cochrane Database in 719 women in 37 weeks or more pregnancies found that nearly 40 percent of those who stimulate their nipples for one to three hours each day. In effect, there was labor within three days. However, this should be done in a timely manner, not triggering too strong and close contractions.

Have sex

The liquid released by men contains cervical softening fats called prostaglandins (also used in medical induction). Including orgasm in women can cause strong uterine contractions.

A 2006 study of 200 mothers found that those who had sex after 36 weeks' gestation of pregnancy were significantly less likely to bypass birth estimates or require induction of labor.

Yet another study published in the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology found no difference between sexually active mothers and those not related to gestational age. Still trigger the pros and cons.

Castor oil

Many also suggest to consume castor oil because it can stimulate the release of prostaglandins and yag trigger uterine contractions. However, this way has side effects, such as nausea, diarrhea, and dehydration.
