Oh Oh Oh Is christmas period or how do santa use to make that announcement, we all see every December as a festive month since it is one month we all look forward to since it is full of different things like the harmattan season, literally xmas celebration and preparation start from Dec 1st down to 31st, currently all families home and beyond will be doing one thing in common, preparing for the journey ahead. People always use this period to travel back to their hometown to see their families, I still remember how we always look forwards to see our cousins and nieces in the village since that is the only time we do visit the village yearly, village life is actually sweet.
No matter how bad the economy or things might be, there are some things we will always do or experience with my family during December periods. First is Chicken Rearing, my mom love rearing chicken especially some month before christmas all because she really don't like buying full chicken outside during Xmas period, they will be costly and the quantity might not even be enough so she prefer buying them some days old which will be really cheap, bring them home to rear even though they eat much, she always find a way to feed them home made meals as alternative and at some point when they are old enough, she will release them to feed on things around. This process is always stressful though but it worth it at the end.
House Cleaning is the second aspect and I do make sure I'm not always available during the period and at times they always caught me before I can sneak away, this do happen some week to Xmas so you won't have any reason why you aren't in the house. We get to clean the whole house, clear any bushes around and also rearrange the whole house with different Christmas decorations, trees and disco light that will be useful at night. We also visit the market to stock up the house with foods of all types and some christmas peripherals and incase we will be traveling down to the village, we will talk all this stuff along with us as the christmas contribution and at least we get to see our village friends and gift them gifts.

Lol, santa says Ho ho ho. Christmas is the time for us to chill with family and eat chicken. Over here we don't rear them ourselves but we have someone who does, so we just give them money to add our own to it.

Yes, it's true during Christmas I also used to be happy, because I will be able to see my cousins. I also used to sneak or sleep whenever I heard that we had to clean the house because of our families who would be coming to celebrate Christmas and New Year with us.
